USPRA Selects ValueOptions' Ed Knight for Chairperson's Award

Norfolk, Virginia — July 26, 2005

ValueOptions today announced that Dr. Ed Knight, vice president of recovery, rehabilitation and mutual support, has received the 2005 Chairperson's Award from the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (USPRA). The award was given to Knight in recognition of his significant role in the development and growth of consumer-friendly, self-directed recovery for people living with severe and persistent mental illness.

"Dr. Knight has made fundamental and significant contributions to consumer empowerment, self-help, and self-determination through his teaching, writing, and research," said Eileen Joseph, USPRA board chair. "His work in translating psychiatric rehabilitation technology into consumer-friendly tools and approaches, has led to significant positive advances in the field of mental health service delivery and personal self-determination."
